Baby!!

Tomorrow is the baby shower for our little boy! So excited. I am so blessed with awesome family and friends. I love them. Nikki and I will be opening her brothers stuff and she'll help Daddy and me put stuff away. I believe she will also be getting her bed any day now!!! Heck Yeah!

In other news, my friend Julie and I have been talking about starting a jazz combo...yeah...cool.... It would be Julie on Piano, me on Tuba and then we are thinking about Trombone or Sax or something or both....dunno OH and of COURSE percussion. Thought it would be pretty cool and fun to do. Also a great learning experience for everyone involved.

I get to see Maria Nicole and Megan tomorrow. YAY! I get to see so many friends that i haven't seen in months. Such a glorious day.

Profession? Job?

This is my second to last semester of school...for my undergrad. I guess you can call it my last regular semester. I will be student teaching next semester so I don't think that counts as a 'regular' semester.

Throughout some of the classes I have taken in the education college at my Univeristy, I have seen some very worry some stuff. Like my fellow students. Most of them are elementary majors and they make comments of not even liking kids.....!!!!??? Can anyone explain this to me? Please.

I am a music education major with an emphasis in special music ed. It has been known and proven that the children in the special education programs at public school are first put into extra curricular classes, art, drama, music, at the beginning of the 'integration period.' Many times they are kept in special education classes for regular core classes. Why shouldn't us teachers of the extra curricular classes take extra training to teach students with special needs. They wiill be in our classes and if we don't know what to do how are we to teach them affectively. No child left behind?.... not so much of what I am getting at...that is a different topic all together. In my opinion it is what is fair. Fairness is what is needed and for students in ANY classroom for ANY subject or event, each has their own individual needs and to be a fair and to be a GOOD teacher we must reach out to them all in accordance to their individual needs. For example, a child with Autism or ADHD. I am hoping to be able to reach all of my students in accordance to their indivudual needs.

I think my professors in the music education department are amazing and I hope I can get as much information from them as possible. They care about children and us future educators. We are incredibly lucky.

So I guess that was just on my mind at the moment as I do my homework. I hope college students who don't like kids get the HECK out of education!!

Our little angel

Well, here are some pics of our little boy. Charles Nikki and I are so excited to meet him face to face but these pictures are okay for now.

we are in our 28th week, so we are 27 1/2 weeks pregnant but all of his measurements and weights show him 10 weeks further...so as if we are 29 weeks pregnant. AH! He should be about 2 lbs but he actually is 2 lb 13 oz. Big boy. He looks so much like Charles and he is just beautiful. Nikki talks to him and she likes to sing to him too. She is going to be a great big sister!

Break

I am only 6.5 weeks pregnant here. I am about 6 months now!

The Fall 2010 semester is now over. Yesterday was my last final. What a relief it is to have a few weeks off. I have 1 more semester of classes and then 1 summer class for a month and then I am in full swing student teaching! I am so excited to teach i really really am. I can't wait! I know it is going to be hard and stressful at times but will be well worth it. Glorious!

Christmas is almost here. Nikki and I are working on presents and a nativity for her room. We are excited to celebrate Jesus' Birthday. I think we will make a cake this year. She has a program at school on Tuesday. Last year she was in her own world on stage having nothing to do with the actual performance while all of the other kids were singing and ringing their bells. Nikki was standing backwards, dancing, sitting and picking stuff up from the floor, later to learn she was picking up sparkles. She is funny.

Anyway I'll try and post some pictures of her Christmas program, maybe even get a video to post. She is such a big girl. Ready to be a big sister!

Our baby boy is due April 8th, we don't have any names picked out yet but we are very excited. Now that Christmas break is going we will be doing his room and hopefully Nikki's room as well if we have time. It is so exciting I can't believe we are going to have 2 kids! YAY

Till next time.

Pickles

Daddy and daughter!

Little princess sleeping.

Well, I deleted all of my posts about 1 year ago. Well I decided today to start up again. Who knows how long this will last.
My daughter is now 4!! She is full swing in pre-school and is so incredibly special to her Daddy and me. We found out the day before her 4th birthday that we were pregnant and all three of us were so happy. Nikki thinks she helped make the baby.....need I say more? We found out 2 days ago God is blessing us with a baby boy! I can't wait!
I remember when was pregnant with Nikki that people would tell me I needed practice doing things with babies, they would try and pawn their little infant off on me for me to feed them or change their diaper. I wouldn't. I didn't babysit when I was younger, I used to, and sadly still do, make babies cry and I wanted nothing to do with children. I was so excited to see my first child that I wasn't worried about the practice. I mean really? How many diapers do you change in the first day of their life? A lot if you are me, I was so paranoid about her being in a wet diaper, that kid had no chance of being irritated by pee! A BOY!!!!!
I am still in school, I should graduate December 2011 with my Music Education degree. How awesome is that! I'll also have my music performance degree as well. Then I get to look for a a position as a band teacher and start my career! My dream! Does it get better? I have an amazing husband, a wonderful daughter, a wonderful son on the way and soon a great and stressful career. AWESOME!!!
Well I think thats a good 1st post in over a year. Don't like it? Shut your face!
