Profession? Job?

This is my second to last semester of school...for my undergrad. I guess you can call it my last regular semester. I will be student teaching next semester so I don't think that counts as a 'regular' semester.

Throughout some of the classes I have taken in the education college at my Univeristy, I have seen some very worry some stuff. Like my fellow students. Most of them are elementary majors and they make comments of not even liking kids.....!!!!??? Can anyone explain this to me? Please.

I am a music education major with an emphasis in special music ed. It has been known and proven that the children in the special education programs at public school are first put into extra curricular classes, art, drama, music, at the beginning of the 'integration period.' Many times they are kept in special education classes for regular core classes. Why shouldn't us teachers of the extra curricular classes take extra training to teach students with special needs. They wiill be in our classes and if we don't know what to do how are we to teach them affectively. No child left behind?.... not so much of what I am getting at...that is a different topic all together. In my opinion it is what is fair. Fairness is what is needed and for students in ANY classroom for ANY subject or event, each has their own individual needs and to be a fair and to be a GOOD teacher we must reach out to them all in accordance to their individual needs. For example, a child with Autism or ADHD. I am hoping to be able to reach all of my students in accordance to their indivudual needs.

I think my professors in the music education department are amazing and I hope I can get as much information from them as possible. They care about children and us future educators. We are incredibly lucky.

So I guess that was just on my mind at the moment as I do my homework. I hope college students who don't like kids get the HECK out of education!!

Our little angel

Well, here are some pics of our little boy. Charles Nikki and I are so excited to meet him face to face but these pictures are okay for now.

we are in our 28th week, so we are 27 1/2 weeks pregnant but all of his measurements and weights show him 10 weeks further...so as if we are 29 weeks pregnant. AH! He should be about 2 lbs but he actually is 2 lb 13 oz. Big boy. He looks so much like Charles and he is just beautiful. Nikki talks to him and she likes to sing to him too. She is going to be a great big sister!
